The GED test is entirely computer-based and has four independent subtests in Math, Science, Literacy, and Social Studies.

In Wisconsin, you can’t be younger than 18.5 years of age. If you are younger (17 to 18.5 years old), you must have permission from your school board and a parent or guardian.
The Wisconsin GED testing fee is $135 for all four subject tests ($33,75 per module) and Wisconsin residency is required.
You cannot already hold a high school diploma and do not attend high school.

How to start
The GED program is not for everyone. You cannot register for this program if you already hold a high school diploma or when you are signed up for another school program. When you feel you are ready to take the GED route, remember these guidelines to get ahead. First of all, locate a GED prep facility near you and see if you are eligible for the GED program. Make sure you’re well prepared when you sit for the GED exam. Local bookstores and libraries can help you with booklets and other material, and you can find several good courses on the internet. Probably the best way to prepare is to attend one of the many (mostly free of charge) GED prep classes offered at facilities close to you. So prepare well, pass the four GED tests, and get your GED diploma.
GED – what’s new
In Wisconsin, 11% of all adults 25 years or older do not have a secondary education degree (high school diploma or equivalent). Every year, some 10,000 of these individuals decide to go for their high school equivalency diploma (HSED) or GED certificate (General Educational Development). The four testing areas of the GED exam are Language Arts (2 hours and 35 minutes), Math (1 hour and 55 minutes), Science (1 hour and 30 minutes), and Social Studies (1 hour and 10 minutes).
If you want to earn a GED diploma or HSED in Wisconsin, there are specific requirements you must meet: You must be at least 18,5 years old (students in the age 17 to 18,5 may only be served by a school district or special program). You must demonstrate proof that you have resided in Wisconsin for no less than 10 days, and you must complete an application form and pay a testing and credential fee at the first meeting.
The four GED tests
The new GED program is really more than only a set of four tests. The online portal MyGED offers all sorts of preparation and study tools.
