GED Classes Madison, Wisconsin

This post lists all GED® prep class locations and testing facilities in the Madison region. Wisconsin is using the GED exam for the state’s high school equivalency (HSE) testing program.

GED testing is available online and at certified Wisconsin testing sites.

The HSE test offers people who never graduated high school the opportunity to obtain an equivalent diploma.

The GED (General Education Development) has four independent subtests in Literacy, Science, Social Studies, and Math.

You have the option to take the four GED tests one at a time. No need to prepare for the entire GED exam at the same time.

Until recently, there was no online GED testing option. Testing needed to be done at a designated Wisconsin testing site.

This has now changed with the arrival of an online testing option. For more information, check the bottom of this page.

In Wisconsin, GED test-takers additionally are required to take and pass the state’s Civics exam.

Welcoming the online GED test

In earlier days, sitting for the GED exam on the internet had never been an option. Students who were looking to earn their Wisconsin GED diploma had to report personally to one of the state-approved GED test facilities.

This practice has ended as we saw the introduction of an online option to sit for the four GED modules. Students who qualify for the online GED testing format will see an online proctor overseeing their activities to guarantee they do it all in accordance with the regulations. To learn more, check out this page: Welcoming the online GED testing option.
