GED testing is available online and at state-approved Wisconsin GED testing sites. The exam is for people who did not graduate high school. This way, they can earn an equivalent degree.

The GED exam measures knowledge at a level similar to what students must command after four years in high school.

There are four independent GED subtests covering the academic subject fields of

• English Language Literacy
• Math
• Science
• Social Studies

You can take one (or more) of the four GED subtests at a time. No need to deal with the entire GED battery in one take.

To earn a GED, Wisconsin test-takers must pass the state’s Civics test as well, a 100-question exam.

The Introduction of the Online GED Test

In earlier days, sitting for the GED exam on the Internet was never possible. To earn your GED diploma, you had to report to one of Wisconsin’s official state-approved GED testing facilities in person.

Now, this has changed as we recently saw the introduction of an online proctored option to deal with the four GED subtests.
