GED Classes La Crosse, Wisconsin

This page includes a full listing of GED® prep facilities and testing centers in the La Crosse region. If you wish to earn your HSE (high school equivalency) diploma in Wisconsin, you must pass the GED test.

The GED test can be taken at certified Wisconsin test centers or online.

The GED (General Education Development) exam is geared towards adults who haven’t finished high school.

This way, they have the chance to earn a credential that’s equivalent to a standard HS diploma.

The GED exam includes four independent tests, or modules, that you can take separately. No requirement to take the four tests all at once.

The four tests are in the fields of Social Studies, Science, Literacy, and Math.

Wisconsin requires GED test-takers also to take and pass a Civics exam.

Until recently, online testing was never an option. Your personal appearance at an official GED testing center was always required.

This has now changed, though, with the launch of an online proctored version of the GED test. You can learn more below at the bottom of this post.

Launching the online GED exam

Taking the GED exam online was, until recently, never an option. If you were looking to acquire your Wisconsin GED credential, you were required to show up in-person at a state-approved GED testing facility.

Well, this has now come to an end with the launch of the online GED test. If you qualify for taking the GED test online, a proctor will monitor your testing activities online to ensure that all goes according to some pretty strict regulations. For more information about this interesting development, go to Launching the online GED exam.
