This article posts all GED prep locations and test sites in the Champaign region. Illinois uses two options for high school equivalency testing: the HiSET and GED exams.
Both tests can be taken online or at designated testing sites. Learn more about the online HiSET and GED tests below.
The exams offer people who didn’t graduate high school an extra opportunity to earn an equivalent credential.
GED® testing occurs through four subtests in Literacy, Social Studies, Science, and Math. You have the option to deal with these subtests one at a time.
The HiSET® exam has separate reading and writing tests, so they have five tests. These subtests can be taken separately as well.
In Illinois, test takers must also take and pass the state’s Constitution exam.

Online Proctored GED And HiSET Tests
Taking the GED or HiSET exam over the Internet was not an option. That is, until recently! If you now want to earn your GED or HiSET credential, you no longer have to come to an official Illinois testing site if you qualify for online testing.
So it all has changed. The GED and HiSET exams are now also available online with the use of a proctor. For more detailed GED information, go to -> The online GED exam, and for more information about the HiSET exam, go to -> The online HiSET exam.
