The GED exam measures knowledge at a level comparable to that of high school students upon graduation.
In the years 2014 through 2021, New York State was using the TASC assessment for its high school equivalency testing program, but that program was discontinued by the end of 2021. Earlier TASC passing scores also count for the GED!

The GED exam is given only at official New York State GED test centers. The state is not offering the GED exam in an online format. Good preparation is critical for success on the challenging GED test.
