GED Classes Manhattan, New York City

This page lists all GED prep sites and testing centers in Manhattan, New York City. New York State uses the GED test for the purpose of high school equivalency testing.

The GED test gives people who haven’t graduated from high school one more shot at securing an equivalent diploma.

In recent years, the state used the TASC exam, but this program was not continued. Your TASC results also count for the GED exam. That’s good news, right?

The GED® exam measures proficiency at a level similar to what high school students are expected to master when they graduate.

There are four separate and independent GED sub-exams that cover these academic subject fields: Language Arts (reading and writing in one sub-exam), Social Studies, Math, and Science.

There’s no need to sit for the entire GED battery in one take. If you wish, you can take the four modules one (or more) at a time.

In New York State, the GED exam is available at official GED testing centers only. Online testing is not (yet) available in the state.
