GED Classes Elizabeth, New Jersey

This article lets you discover all GED® prep facilities and testing sites in the Elizabeth, New Jersey, region. New Jersey uses various alternatives for HSE (high school equivalency) testing, the TASC™, HiSET®, and GED exams.

The HiSET and GED can be taken online and at state-approved testing sites.

We recommend the Online GED Program from Onsego. It’s Simple, Fast & Easy. Onsego Provides Everything You Need To Get Your GED. Learn More.

The HSE exam assesses proficiency at a level that equals that of graduating HS students.

In New Jersey, all three options must be taken on a computer, no longer is paper-based HSE testing possible.

The GED has four individual tests in Literacy, Social Studies, Math, and Science that can be completed separately.

The TASC and HiSET exams come with five subtests as their literacy part has separate writing and reading tests. These tests can be taken individually as well.

The New Jersey HSE credential is accepted just like a regular high school diploma by educational institutions and employers.

Launching GED and HiSET online options

Taking the GED, HiSET, or TASC exam over the internet was, until just recently, no option. You had to come personally to one of New Jersey’s state-designated HSE testing sites and take the tests there. Now, all of this has changed with the introduction of online HiSET and GED test-taking options.

To read more about the HiSET-At-Home exam via the internet, visit ‘Launching an online HiSET testing option’ and if you want to read more about the recently launched online proctored GED exam, go to this post: ‘Introducing a new online GED testing option’.
