In the past years, New York was using the TASC exam for that purpose. That program, however, was discontinued. No need to worry if you already passed portions of the TASC because your scores also count for the new GED test!
The GED exam has four subtests in the fields of language arts (reading and writing combined), social studies, science, and math.
The GED® (General Education Development) exam is offered exclusively in a fully computer-based format. This actually makes a lot of sense, as there’s practically no job out there that doesn’t require applicants to command basic computer skills.
In New York, the GED exam must be taken at state-designated test centers. Online testing is not (yet) available in the state.
