The HiSET® and GED® tests give adults who quit high school prematurely the chance to get hold of an equivalent degree.
Both tests measure knowledge at a level that compares to that of graduating HS seniors.
The GED comes with four separate tests (modules) in Literacy, Math, Science, and Social Studies that can be taken one at a time.
The HiSET includes five subject tests as the Literacy Sections come with separate reading and writing tests. These subtests may, if wished, also be done separately.
The GED is administered exclusively on a computer, while the HiSET is offered in both a computerized and paper-based version.

GED vs. HiSETOnline GED Or HiSET Testing
Test-takers looking to earn their California HSE diploma can now sit for the GED or HiSET exam also in an online format. Until recently, online HiSET and GED testing was no option; it simply was not available. You were required to come to an official, state-designated testing site and sit for the exams in person.
