This page includes a full listing of GED® classes and testing sites in the Hattiesburg region. Mississippi is using two options for HSE (High School Equivalency) testing, the HiSET® and GED exams.
Both the HiSET and GED can be taken online or at one of Mississippi’s official HSE test facilities.
HSE testing gives people who didn’t graduate high school one more chance to secure an equivalent diploma.
The GED exam is entirely computerized while the HiSET is offered in two formats: on paper and on a computer.
The GED has four individual subtests (modules) in Math, Social Studies, Science, and Literacy that can be completed separately.
The HiSET has individual writing and reading tests, so five in total, that can be taken separately, too.
Until recently, sitting for the GED or HiSET exam online was not possible. But this has all changed as we witnessed the arrival of online GED and HiSET test-taking options. Read more at the bottom of this post.

Online HiSET and GED testing options introduced
Until recently, there was no possibility to sit for the GED or HiSET test over the internet. You were always required to come to one of Mississippi’s state-approved HSE testing facilities. Well, things have changed.
Recently, we saw the introduction of online HiSET and GED testing options as well. You can learn more on these pages: for online HiSET testing check out HiSET online testing welcomed, and for the online GED testing option visit: GED online testing option welcomed.
