In this post, you can discover all GED prep facilities and testing centers in the Meridian region. Mississippi offers two options for high school equivalency testing: the GED and HiSET exams.
The HiSET and GED are available both online and at certified Mississippi test centers.
The exams give adults without a high school diploma the opportunity to earn an equivalent degree.
The GED® exam is fully computerized, while the HiSET® exam is available both on a computer and in a paper-based format.
The GED comes with four modules (independent subtests) measuring a test-taker’s skills and knowledge of these subjects:
- Math
- English Language
- Science
- Social Studies
These modules may be taken separately and in any order.

The HiSET exam has five tests because they have separate reading and writing tests. These modules may be taken independently as well.
The HiSET and GED exams were, until recently, not offered via the Internet. Personal appearance at an official testing facility was required, but recently, the two exams also became available in online proctored formats. Learn more below.

Online GED and HiSET Testing Welcomed
Until recently, there was no option to take the GED or HiSET exam online. Recently, though, things changed. Earlier, you needed to show up at one of Mississippi’s official HSE test locations, but the HiSET and GED exams have now also become available online.
