GED Classes Fresno, California

This post contains an overview of GED® classes in the Fresno region. Testing sites are also listed. California not only offers the computer-based GED exam for HSE (high school equivalency) testing.

The state also embraced the TASC and HiSET exams which can be taken on-paper or on-computer.

All three HSE exams measure academic proficiency at a level that compares to that of HS students when they graduate.

The HSE test program gives adults that never completed high school the chance to acquire an equivalent credential.

GED testing occurs via four separate tests (modules) in Social Studies, Math, Science, and Literacy.

You can complete these GED modules one at a time and the HiSET and TASC subtests may be taken separately as well.

HiSET and TASC exams have five subtests since the Literacy section contains separate reading and writing tests.

Online HSE testing was no option. You needed to come to an official California testing center and sit for the HSE exam in person but that is changing. Read more below.

Online GED and HiSET

To earn your HSE diploma, you had to show up at an official testing center and take the exam in person. Online testing was not possible. Until recently! HiSET and GED testing is now also possible online. To learn more about these great developments, check out online HiSET testing, and for online GED test, check here.

Who is the GED exam for?

The HSE program is developed for adults who dropped out of high school. The program offers them a chance to acquire a diploma that is equivalent to a high school diploma. The GED program was introduced in 1942 and is recognized throughout Canada and the United States, and successfully completing the GED set of four tests will result in a high school equivalency credential.

The GED credential is the perfect stepping stone to get a college education and is widely used for getting a good job and career advancement. Adults with a high school or GED diploma are expected to make around $9,500 more annually than those who do not have the credential.
