GED testing includes four modular sub-exams covering
- Mathematics
- Science

GED Passing Score
On the GED sub-exams, the minimally needed score is 145 out of 200. So, your total score can never be less than 580.
- A 145-164 result indicates high school equivalency
- A 165-174 result indicates college readiness
- A 175-200 score indicates college readiness and will additionally result in up to 10 college credit hours
HiSET Passing Score
On the HiSET exam, you must attain a score of at least 8 points (out of 20) on each of the five HiSET subtests, and your total score must be no less than 45 points. There is no averaging, so the 8-score is what you must have minimally on each of the five tests. Additionally, your essay’s result must be at least a 2-score (out of 6).
