TASC Essay Topics w/ Sample

Who is the TASC exam for?

The state of Indiana no longer uses the GED for High School Equivalency (HSE) testing but switched to the TASC exam in January 2014. The High School Equivalency (HSE) program is set up to help adults who, for whatever reason, never obtained a high school diploma, with achieving the HSE diploma. This document, that you be given upon completing the Indiana TASC test, is nationwide accepted as equivalent to a high school diploma by employers and colleges across the United States.

If you would like to have more information on qualification requirements, go to TASC Testing in Indiana. TASC passing requirements are: you must attain between 500 and 800 points for each of the five subject tests, and between 2 and 8 for the essay part. Check also this website’s entirely free practice tests and video instruction for your GED or TASC exam.

Is the TASC-GED exam offered online?

Despite all technological developments of the past decades is the TASC, just as the GED exam, not available in an online version, you still need to come to a state-approved testing site by yourself and take the tests face-to-face. Internet-based preparation is a great option, especially for students in faraway regions and those who are too busy to attend physical classes. Beware of fraudulent websites that claim something else, they only want to steal your money and their so-called diplomas are not even worth the paper they are printed on.

The GED program includes one of the best-known HSE (high school equivalency) exams in America, but in January 2014, Indiana introduced a new and more challenging exam which is more appealing to higher education and employers. The TASC (Test Assessing Secondary Completion) is cheaper than the GED exam, is available on paper and on a computer and replaced the GED in January 2014. Fort Wayne’s East Wayne Street Center offers free TASC/GED classes and also provides the examination. The price of the new GED exam is $120 whereas the TASC examination costs under $70.
