This post includes an overview of all GED® class locations and test sites in the Dayton region. Ohio offers two options for HSE (high school equivalency) testing, the GED and HiSET.
The HiSET and GED tests can be dealt with in an online format or at one of Ohio’s state-designated test centers. For more information about HiSET and GED online testing, check the bottom of this page.
HSE testing is for adults who were not able to complete their high school education.
The program enables them to acquire a credential that equivalent to a common HS diploma.
The GED has four individual subtests that cover these academic fields: English Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies.
You can take one or more GED subtests at a time. You don’t need to take the four tests in one session.
HiSET testing is possible both on-paper and on-computer. This option has five tests as “Literacy” includes a reading and a writing test. These subtests are also available separately.

Introducing online GED and HiSET tests
In earlier days, if you wanted to earn your high school equivalency (HSE) credential, you had to report, in person, to one of Ohio’s state-designated testing facilities. But now, we have seen some great new developments as both the GED and HiSET exams have introduced online testing as well.
To read more about the new online proctored HiSET test, visit ‘Online HiSET testing welcomed’ and for more GED online testing, check out: ‘Introducing a new online GED test’.
