This page lists all GED prep facilities and testing sites in the Atlanta area. Georgia is using two options for its high school equivalency testing program: the GED and HiSET exams.

The exams offer persons who left high school prematurely one more chance to earn an equivalent diploma.

There are four separate GED® subtests (modules) that you may complete one (or more) at a time if you wish.

To prepare for GED test, you can register for one of the classes listed here or register for a good online prep course like the program designed by Onsego Online GED Prep. We offer free GED online classes sourced from Onsego’s comprehensive program.

This way, you can learn for free if online learning works for you. GED Testing Service, the publisher of the GED test, qualifies Onsego GED Prep as “completely aligned with the GED test.”

The four testing subject areas are

• Social Studies, inc. Geography, Economics, History
• Reasoning through Language Arts (English Literacy)
• Mathematical Reasoning
• Science, incl. Physics, Chemistry, Government

The HiSET® exam comes with separate writing and reading subtests, so five in total. All HiSET and GED sub-exams may be taken in any order.

The GED is fully computer-based, while the HiSET can be taken on paper or on a computer.

There is now also an online GED and HiSET testing option. You were required to come to an official Georgia GED testing site and sit for the tests in person.

That has changed, however, with the introduction of new, online, proctored GED or HiSET testing formats. Read more at the bottom of this page.

Online GED and HiSET Testing Introduced

Taking the GED or HiSET exam was, until recently, only possible at state-approved testing sites. There was no option to sit for the GED or HiSET test online. If you were looking to get hold of a Georgia High School Equivalency diploma, you had to come, in person, to one of the state’s official test facilities to pass the four GED or five HiSET subtests.

Now, with the arrival of a new online testing format, all of that is changing. When you use this online testing format, an online proctor guides you through the process and sees if all is done according to strict rules and regulations.
