GED Classes Marietta, Georgia

This post lists all GED® and HiSET® prep classes and testing centers in the Marietta area. Georgia uses two options for the state’s HSE (high school equivalency) program, the GED and HiSET exams.

The GED is only available in a computer-based format while the HiSET can be taken on a computer or in a paper-based format.

It doesn’t matter when you left school.

The GED and HiSET exams can be taken online or at one of Georgia’s state-approved HSE test centers.

The GED and HiSET exams offer persons who never graduated an extra opportunity to obtain an equivalent credential.

Both tests measure knowledge at a level comparable to that of graduating high school seniors.

The GED exam includes four independent subtests (modules) in Literacy, Math, Social Studies, and Science that can be taken one at a time.

HiSET testing includes five subtests as the Literacy section has individual writing and reading subtests, so five in total.

We recommend the Online GED Program from Onsego. It’s Simple, Fast & Easy. Onsego Provides Everything You Need to Pass Your GED.

It used to be that online GED or HiSET testing was not possible. You had to show up at an official Georgia HSE testing site and take the tests personally.

That has changed now, though, with the introduction of an online proctored GED and HiSET testing option. Read more below.

Reconnecting Families organization strongly believes in education. The agency supports not only those participating in the Family Dependency Treatment Court, but it also supports Juveniles in Juvenile Drug Court in their efforts to earn their GED diploma. By means of the agency’s funding of GED education, participants can return to their communities as healthy and educated family members. The GED Education Program (Juvenile Court Bldg, Marietta) started over a decade ago.

This General Education Development program teamed up with Cobb County Adult Education to secure grant funding to build a successful program. Reconnecting Families provides GED classes at the Juvenile Court twice per week, and the agency provides funds so participating students will be well-prepared to sit for the GED exam (a set of four tests) successfully.

Online GED and HiSET test-taking

In the past, sitting for the GED or HiSET exam was only available at state-approved testing sites. There was simply no online testing option. To earn your Georgia HSE credential, you were required to report, in person, to one of Georgia’s official test centers.

But things have changed. Now, online versions of the GED and HiSET tests were introduced. Students who take the GED or HiSET exam online will have a proctor guide them through the test-taking process and check whether all is done in line with strict regulations.

Check out this article: ‘New online GED testing option’ for more information about the online GED test, and for more online HiSET testing details, go to this page.

Preparation is key

After you’ve passed the four GED or five HiSET subtests you will be awarded a diploma that’s accepted across North America in the same way as a common high school diploma by employers, government institutions, and colleges, and universities.

Preparation is key. Get in touch with one of the prep sites listed above where generally, classes are offered at no cost, including study materials. There are also some good online HSE courses like the one offered for free on this website.
