The GED exam includes four separate tests in Literacy, Science, Math, and Social Studies

There’s no need to deal with the entire GED battery all at once. The four subtests must be completed in maximally two years.

The HiSET has five tests (Literacy has separate reading and writing tests). These tests can be taken separately, too.

Both HSE exams assess academic proficiency at a level that’s similar to that of a graduation HS student.

Who is the GED-HiSET for?

The GED (General Education Development) exam and the HiSET (High School Equivalency Test) are created for adults who quit high school prematurely and offer them a second chance to earn a comparable credential. The diploma that you will receive when you pass the Pennsylvania GED or HiSET is nationwide regarded as equivalent to a high school diploma and is accepted by government organizations, businesses, colleges, and universities.

GED/HiSET testing provides applicants the opportunity to demonstrate that they have obtained the knowledge and skills at a level that may be expected of high school graduates. When successful, they will be awarded the Commonwealth Secondary School Diploma, a credential equivalent to a high school diploma.

Beware of fraud

The GED and HiSET tests can NOT be taken online. You must report to an official GED/HiSET testing site and take the tests (one at a time if you wish) by yourself. If you see a website that tells a different story, be aware that this is fraud! Here’s also a link to the post that lists all GED prep facilities in America.
