This is an overview of GED and HiSET prep classes and testing facilities in the Lancaster area. Pennsylvania uses two options for High School Equivalency testing, the HiSET and GED exams.
Both exams can be taken online and at state-approved testing centers.

Pennsylvania awards the Commonwealth Secondary School Diploma (CSSD) to students who pass one of these exams.
GED® and HiSET® testing occurs at a level that’s similar to what HS seniors must command upon graduation.
The GED is done completely computer-based, whereas the HiSET can be done both on-computer and on-paper.
The GED exam has four subtests (modules) in Math, Literacy, Social Studies, and Science. You have the option to take these subtests one (or more) at a time.
The HiSET comes with five tests (Literacy is split up into writing and reading tests) that can be taken separately as well.
In the past, it was never possible to sit for the HiSET or GED exam over the internet. That has changed, however, with the launch of online HiSET and GED test-taking options. Learn more below.

Launching Online HiSET And GED Testing Options
Until recently, both the GED and HiSET test had to be dealt with in person at one of Pennsylvania’s official HSE (High School Equivalency) testing sites. Taking the HSE test online had never been an option. Well, recently, both online proctored GED and HiSET testing options were launched, so that’s all changed.
