Until recently, online GED or HiSET testing has never been possible. You were required to show up at an official state-approved Pennsylvania HSE testing site and sit for the tests in person.
Now, this has changed with the launch of online proctored testing options for both HiSET and GED testing. Learn more below.

Launching GED and HiSET Online Tests
In the past, both the GED and HiSET exams had to be taken in person at an official Pennsylvania HSE testing site. Online HSE test-taking was never possible. That is, until some years back, as we witnessed the introduction of both an online proctored GED exam and a new online HiSET testing option.
For information on the HiSET online testing option, check out ‘Welcoming the online HiSET test,’ and for information on the online GED option, go to ‘Welcoming the online GED test.’
