GED Classes Torrance California

This article includes an overview of GED prep locations and test centers in and around Torrance. California offers two options for high school equivalency testing: the GED and HiSET.

You can take these exams both online and at state-certified testing centers. Learn more about online testing below.

The HiSET and GED assessments give adults who quit high school prematurely the chance to earn an equivalent degree.

Both exams assess knowledge at a level comparable to that of graduating high school students.

Online GED, HiSET Testing

You can now take the GED and HiSET exams online as well. Until recently, if you were looking to earn a GED, you needed to come, in person, to an official California GED testing center.

Well, that has all changed! The GED and HiSET exams are now also offered online with a proctor who will check if everything goes in line with some rather strict regulations. To learn more, check out the following pages: ‘The online GED test,’ and for HiSET testing: ‘The online HiSET test.’

  • 165 to 174: college-ready
  • 175 to 200: college-ready plus college credit

The HiSET exam requires you to attain at least a score of 8 out of a possible 20 on each of the five modules. Your overall result must be at least 45, and you need to score at least 2 out of 6 for your essay.
