GED Classes St. Cloud, Minnesota

Listed here are all GED® prep class locations and testing facilities in the St. Cloud area. Minnesota has welcomed the computer-formatted GED test for high school equivalency (HSE) testing.

The GED exam can be taken online or at a state-certified GED test center.

With Online GED Classes from Onsego, getting your GED is not hard. Let us help you. Learn More.

The HSE program is for adults who left high school without a diploma and offers them one more chance to earn an equivalent degree.

The GED exam consists of four separate subtests in Literacy, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies.

You don’t need to take all the subtests at one time. You have the option to sit for one (or more) of the four subject tests at a time.

Online GED testing has, until recently, never been an option. You had to come personally to an official GED testing site.

Now, this has changed, however, as a new online testing format was introduced using a proctor who checks if all is done in line with the regulations. Read more below.

GED testing is quite challenging. The passing score is set at a level that some 40% of high school graduates could not pass on their first attempt.

Introducing an online GED testing option

It used to be that you could not take the GED exam via the internet. To secure a Minnesota GED degree, your personal appearance at one of Minnesota’s state-approved GED test facilities was required.

Now, we’ve witnessed the introduction of a new online proctored GED test-taking option, so all of that has changed. To learn more about these significant changes, check out the post ‘A new online GED test-taking option welcomed.’

50 successful persons who have a GED

To pass the GED exam, you’ll have to reach at least a 145 score on each of the four modules. Averaging is no option. This score is minimally required on all four modules. Results are calibrated on a 100-200 scale. 100-144: below passing score; 145-164: high school equivalent score; 165-174: college-ready score: 175-200: college-ready score PLUS up to 10 college credits.
