This is not a GED program, but La Casa de Amistad offers an after-school Enrichment Program (Adelante) for high and middle school students. The GED and HiSET Sub-exams
HiSET testing involves five independent subtests in
- Mathematics
- Science
- English Writing
- English Reading
- Social Studies
The GED has combined English reading and English writing into one Language Arts subtest, so the GED exam has four separate sub-exams.
HiSET testing can be done on paper or on a computer, whereas the GED is entirely computer-based. Online HiSET and GED testing is also an option for qualifying students.
You can sit for the five HiSET or four GED subtests separately (one at a time if you wish) and in any order.

Online GED and HiSET Tests
You can also take the GED and HiSET exams online. To qualify for the online GED test, you first need to achieve “green” scores on the GED Ready practice test. For each GED sub-exam, there’s one of these practice tests, making it four in total.
You can buy the GED Ready official practice test on the website GED.com for $7.99 each. Students who study toward their GED with an Advantage Plan do not need to do so because their plans already include four GED Ready vouchers. Isn’t that a wonderful $32 value bonus?
