GED cost

The Florida GED exam costs $32 per individual subject field or $128 in total for the entire battery of four individual subtests. For qualification requirements visit GED in Florida and benefit also from these free practice tests that will help you pass the GED exam.

Over the years, the academic content fields in which applicants are examined (English language arts – literature & reading – social studies – science – and mathematics) did not change, but the methods of testing, the priorities that were inserted, and the assumptions by which proficiency in the areas was assessed, have evolved from time to time.

Because the GED exam assesses academic skills and knowledge at the level that may be expected after four years in high school, it is imminent that the GED exam continues to evolve in accordance with secondary education. The GED exam covers the fundamental academic fields of literacy, social studies, science, and math. Furthermore, applicants will have to demonstrate an understanding of evidence-based writing and analytical and critical reasoning skills across the four tests.

The GED test, developed by GED Testing Service — a joint venture owned by Pearson VUE (a leading assessment company) in combination with the American Council on Education (ACE) — has condensed five subject-matter tests into four tests that are including more challenging questions and are aligned with the Common Core Education Standards that were adopted by most states, including Florida.

Rather than taking the four tests on paper, applicants now must take the exam on a computer, and the good news of this ‘digitalization’ process is that it will tell test-takers right away if they failed or passed.

The GED exam is developed to prepare applicants better for vocational training, college education, and career development by testing the knowledge and skills employers and schools are requiring these days.
