GED Classes Bradenton, Florida

On this page, you can find all GED prep facilities and testing sites in the Bradenton region. Florida uses the GED exam for its high school equivalency testing program.

The GED exam is given online and at state-approved test centers. Check below to read more about online GED testing.

The exam gives adults who could not finish high school the chance to earn an equivalent degree.

The GED® exam contains four subtests in these academic fields: Math, Science, Literacy, and Social Studies.

You have the option to take one (or more) of the four GED subtests at a time. No need to do it all at once.

The GED test assesses knowledge and skills at a level comparable to those of high school grads.

Online GED Testing

Sitting for the GED test via the internet was, until recently, never an option. If you wanted to earn a GED, you were required to appear in person at one of Florida’s state-approved GED testing facilities and pass the four GED subtests.

Now that has changed with the arrival of a new online, proctored GED exam. An online proctor guides you through the entire test-taking process. Visit ‘Introducing the online GED exam’ for detailed information.

GED Passing Score

The GED exam has four independent subtests (modules) that can, if wished, be taken one at a time. The modules are scored on a scale that runs from 100 to 200. On each module, you are required to reach at least a 145 score, and there is NO averaging. You must attain that score on EACH of the four exams.

  • High School Equivalency Score: 145-164
  • College-Ready Score: 165-174
  • College-Ready PLUS College Credit Score: 175-200
If your score is in the 175-200 range, you will receive up to 10 college credits, depending on the college and the subject.
