GED Classes Rome, Georgia

Listed on this page is an overview of GED® preparatory class locations and testing sites in the Rome area. Georgia uses the computer-based GED examination for the state’s High School Equivalency Testing program.

The GED program is geared towards people who did not complete high school and offers them the chance to earn an equivalent degree.

There are four individual GED subtests in Math (Mathematical Reasoning), Social Studies, Literacy (Reasoning through Language Arts), and Science.

You have the option to complete these four subtests (modules) one or more at a time.

There has never been any online GED testing possibility. You needed to show up at one of Georgia’s official GED testing sites and sit for the tests in person.

With the arrival of a new online proctored GED test-taking option, that is all changing. Read more below.

The four GED modules measure your academic proficiency at a level that compares to that of high school grads.

GED online test-taking option

To take the GED test, you had to appear at a state-designated testing site. Online testing was just not offered. But recently, an online GED test-taking option was introduced so that has changed. Test-takers who take the online GED testing option will be coupled with an online proctor who helps them through the entire process and checks if all is done in line with the regulations. Visit ‘New online GED testing option’ if you want to learn more.
