This post lists all TASC (formerly GED®) preparatory facilities and test locations in the Richmond region.
Indiana’s HSE (high school equivalency) program is for adults who did not complete their high school education.
The diploma that’s awarded upon successful completion of the TASC exam is the equivalency of a regular HS diploma.
The TASC exam has five subtests in English writing, English reading, social studies, math, and science.
The passing score on each of the five TASC tests is 500 out of 800, and your essay score must be at least a 2.
You can NOT sit for the TASC (or GED) exam over the Internet. Testing must be done at an official Indiana TASC testing center.

The TASC exam
The TASC is developed by CTB/McGraw-Hill and if you wish to earn your HSE diploma make sure to get perfectly prepared. The exam has five testing fields and will take you some 7.5 hours to deal with. To find out if you qualify, visit GED (TASC) in Indiana and you may use these free practice tests towards your HSE exam.
GED (TASC) preparation
So Indiana stopped using the GED exam for high school equivalency testing. The state’s assessment system is the TASC (Test Assessing Secondary Completion). Preparation is key, the test is not easy, and when you show up at the exam not properly prepared, beware that the State of Indiana will strictly limit the number of retests you can take per year, should you not pass on the first attempt.
To become properly prepared for the TASC exam, you can contact the ABE (Adult Basic Education) office in your region to attend a class to get all set or contact one of the facilities mentioned above. The ABE offices also offer a practice test so you can find out what your level is and to see on which subject(s) you should concentrate.
The minimum score is 500 points on each of the five TASC subtests. The five testing fields are Language Arts–Reading, Language Arts–Writing, Science, Math, and Social Studies. Additionally, you are required to attain at least 2 out of 8 points on your essay. You will also get a College and Career Readiness (CCR) score in all five testing fields. This indicates if you are likely to be successful in college courses. Students who are meeting or exceeding the CCR score may expect to be earning at least a C in college courses in that specific field.
