This page includes an overview of all GED prep class options and testing sites in the Peoria region. Illinois uses two options for High School Equivalency testing: the GED and HiSET exams.
Both the HiSET and GED are available online and at state-designated test centers. Read more about taking the tests online below.
The exams give persons who didn’t graduate high school another option to obtain an equivalent degree.
Testing takes place at a comparable level to what HS seniors must know upon graduation.

Online HiSET and GED Tests
In the past, taking one of the Illinois high school equivalency tests (HiSET, GED) over the Internet was not an option. The tests were just not available online. To acquire your GED diploma, you needed to come to an official testing site and sit for the tests personally.
Well, that has changed! Both the HiSET and GED exams have introduced an online version using an online proctor. If you want to read more, go to ‘The online GED exam,’ and for more information on the HiSET, check out -> ‘The HiSET-At-Home test.’
