Posted here are all HiSET and GED prep class locations and test facilities in the Nashville area. In Tennessee, you’ll need to pass the GED or HiSET exam to earn your high school equivalency diploma.

GED and HiSET testing is offered online and at state-certified HSE (high school equivalency) test centers.

The HiSET exam, like the GED®, gives individuals who couldn’t graduate high school an extra chance to obtain an equivalent diploma.

Some HiSET or GED students perform better when guided by a teacher at one of the physical prep sites listed in this post. Others may do well with an accredited online course.

This website offers free practice tests and online GED classes to help you see if online learning is a good fit for you.

If so, we recommend you continue with the online program designed by Onsego GED Prep, an engaging, affordable, and accredited GED program. As the HiSET and GED contents are similar, you can study with this accredited, affordable course to prepare for the HiSET exam as well.

The HiSET (High School Equivalency Test) comes with five modular subtests that measure skills and knowledge in the following subject fields:

• English Language Writing
• English Language Reading
• Science
• Social Studies
• Mathematics

The GED exam includes four sub-exams because the Language Writing and Language Reading portions were merged into one Language Arts test.

Testing occurs at a similar level to as what high school seniors must know upon graduation.

HiSET testing is possible on paper and in a computer-based format, while the GED exam is offered exclusively in a computer-based format.

In the past, there was never a way to deal with the GED or HiSET exam online. Your personal appearance at an official testing site was required.

The recent launch of the Online Proctored GED exam and the HiSET-At-Home exam, however, have changed that. More details are found at the bottom of this page.

In earlier days, there was never the option to take the Tennessee HiSET or GED exam online. You always had to show up in person at one of the state’s official HSE test centers.

Recently, however, we saw the launch of online options to take the five HiSET or four GED modules from your home.
