GED Classes Miami, Florida

This article posts all GED® preparatory sites and testing centers in the Miami region.

Florida uses the GED test for high school equivalency (HSE) testing purposes.

HSE testing gives adults who did not complete high school an extra option to acquire an equivalent diploma.

Testing occurs at a level comparable to that of graduating high school seniors.

The GED exam is available in English and Spanish and contains four subtests in Social Studies, Science, Math, and Literacy.

You can take one subtest at a time but you need to finish the entire GED battery within two years.

There is NO online GED testing. Websites promising this option are fraudulent, and documents bought online are worthless.

What is the GED exam?

The GED (General Education Development) exam is a battery of four tests that, when passed, certifies the student has American or Canadian high school-level academic knowledge and skills. In order to pass the GED exam, applicants must have a score higher than 40 percent of high school graduates nationwide.

Jurisdictions award a “Certificate of General Educational Development” to persons who meet the passing score requirements. The tests were originally developed to help veterans after World War II return to civilian life. The GED exam contains four separate tests that can be taken individually within a 2-year time frame. The four testing subject fields are Literacy (Reasoning through Language Arts), Math (Mathematical Reasoning), Science, and Social Studies.
