GED Classes Marietta Georgia

This post lists all GED and HiSET prep classes and testing centers in the Marietta area. Georgia uses two options for the state’s high school equivalency program: the GED and HiSET exams.

The GED is only available in a computer-based format, while the HiSET can be taken on a computer or in a paper-based format.

The GED and HiSET exams can be taken online or at one of Georgia’s state-approved HSE (high school equivalency) test centers.

The GED and HiSET exams offer persons who never graduated an extra opportunity to obtain an equivalent credential. Both tests measure knowledge at a level comparable to that of graduating high school seniors.

The GED exam includes four independent subtests (modules) in

  • Language
  • Math
  • Social Studies
  • Science

These modules can be taken one or more at a time and in any order.

Online GED Classes

A simple and easy way of getting your GED diploma.

HiSET testing includes five subtests as the Literacy section has individual writing and reading subtests, so five in total.

It used to be that online GED or HiSET testing was not possible. You had to show up at an official Georgia HSE testing site and take the tests personally. That has changed now, though, with the introduction of an online proctored GED and HiSET testing option. Read more below.

Online GED and HiSET Tests

In the past, sitting for the GED or HiSET exam was only available at state-approved testing sites. There was simply no online testing option. To earn your Georgia HSE credential, you were required to report, in person, to one of Georgia’s official test centers.

But things have changed. Now, online versions of the GED and HiSET tests have been introduced. Students who take the GED or HiSET exam online will have a proctor guide them through the test-taking process and check whether all is done in line with strict regulations.

Check out this article: ‘The Online GED Test,’ for more information about the online GED test. For more information on online HiSET testing, <- go to this page.

Preparation Is Key

After you’ve passed the four GED or five HiSET subtests, you will be awarded a diploma that’s accepted across North America in the same way as a common high school diploma by employers, government institutions, and colleges and universities.

Preparation is key. Get in touch with one of the prep sites listed above, where, generally, classes are offered at no cost, including study materials. There are also some good online GED lessons offered for free on this website.
