Posted on this page are all available GED and HiSET prep classes and testing centers in the Macon region. In Georgia, there are two exams used for high school equivalency testing: the GED and HiSET exams.

Both GED and HiSET testing is available at state-certified test facilities and in an online format. The exams give adults who did not graduate high school the chance to get a hold of an equivalent credential.

Both the HiSET and GED exams access knowledge and skills at a level that compares to that of a high school grad.

The GED test is only available on a computer, and the exam has four separate subtests (modules) that may be dealt with separately.

The four GED testing subject areas are

• Math
• Language (writing and reading combined)
• Science
• Social Studies

The HiSET exam can be taken both on paper and on a computer and has five subtests, as there are individual reading and writing subtests. The HiSET subtests can also be taken one at a time.

Online GED and HiSET Tests

In the past, taking the GED or HiSET test was only possible at state-designated testing sites. Online High School Equivalency (HSE) testing was simply not offered. To get hold of your Georgia HSE diploma, you had to report personally to an official Georgia test center.

But now, online GED and HiSET testing options have been introduced, so that has changed. Students who take the online GED or HiSET exam will have an online proctor to help them through the process and check if all is in line with some pretty strict regulations.
