The GED has four sub-exams as the reading and writing portions were merged into one English Language Arts sub-exam.
The HiSET and GED exams give persons who left high school without a diploma the chance to earn an equivalent diploma.
In total, the exams will take some seven hours to deal with, generally divided over several days, though you may also opt to deal with the five HiSET or four GED subtests separately.
The HiSET exam can be taken on paper or in a computer-based version. The GED exam is only available in a computer-based format.

The diploma that’s awarded to students who pass the Indiana GED or HiSET exam is all over America recognized in the same way as a conventional high school credential.

GED Passing Score
On the four GED sub-exams, you need to reach at least a 145 score, and this counts for each of the four subtests. There’s no averaging. Scores are indicated on a 100-200 scale where 145-164 is the GED high school equivalency range, 165-174 is the GED college-ready score, and testers scoring in the 175-200 range may expect to receive up to 10 college credit hours. Check here to learn more about the online GED exam.
HiSET Passing Score
On each of the five HiSET subtests (independent modules), you are required to attain at least an 8-score (out of 20 max), your total result can not be under 45, and your essay must additionally have at least a 2-score out of a possible 6.
So, the HiSET exam comes with five tests as the literacy section has separate English reading and English writing subtests, whereas the GED has four individual tests that can, just like the HiSET modules, be taken separately. Check here to learn more about -> taking the HiSET exam online.
