Listed here are all Indiana GED and HiSET prep facilities and testing sites in the Gary area. Indiana uses both the GED and HiSET exams for its high school equivalency testing program.

The diploma that you’ll be awarded upon completing either exam is, across North America, accepted in the same way as a conventional high school diploma.

The HiSET exam has five independent subtests in

• English Reading
• English Writing
• Science
• Math
• Social Studies

The GED exam combined the writing and reading sub-exams into one English Language test.

The HiSET, like the GED®, offers individuals who couldn’t graduate from high school another chance to obtain an equivalent degree.

Both the GED and HiSET exams can be taken online or at one of Indiana’s state-approved test centers.

Completing the GED or HiSET exam will take a little over 7.5 hours, usually split over a few days, but you can take the subtests separately as well.

HiSET testing can be done on paper or in a computer-based format, whereas the GED exam must be completed on a computer.
