The GED test

GED testing is done on a computer. There are four separate tests in Science, Math, Social Studies, and Literacy. The GED tests are modules. You can take them one at a time but you must complete the battery within two years.

The following time restraints apply Math-115 minutes; Literacy-155 minutes; Science-90 minutes; Social Studies-70 minutes. Passing the four independent GED (General Educational Development) tests qualifies a candidate to receive a State of Florida High School Diploma. The Florida GED costs $32 per separate subtest ($128 for the entire GED battery).

Test scheduling

For the GED exam, applicants go to GED.com and create their personal account at the portal MyGED. This is the place for scheduling and paying for your tests. On testing day, students are required to provide one valid form of identification, and the ID must be government-issued and non-expired. It must also include the candidate’s student’s name, address, date of birth, signature, and photograph. GED test-takers must reschedule and cancel test appointments at least 24 hours before the appointment via the student website, the GED call center, or the test center, and appointments must be rescheduled within the authorized test delivery period.

If a student is within 24 hours of their scheduled appointment, they can either take the test or not take the test. If he or she does not take the test, it will be treated as a no-show. Students who attempt to reschedule or cancel their appointment less than 24 hours from their appointment will forfeit their test fees.

The GED and your future

There may be many reasons why you have never completed your regular high school training, but at this moment that is irrelevant. What counts at this moment is that you made the choice to take on the GED program and make the most of your life! At prep classes, you will find instructors who will prepare you optimally for sit for the GED exam confidently.

There are many applicants who have not been to school for a longer period of time, and preparation classes are mostly designed in a way that you will soon get accustomed to situations that let you be successful on testing day.

There is NO online GED exam

There are some things you should take notice of before you take the four independent GED tests in the subject fields of Science, Mathematics, Literacy, and Social Studies. First of all, the GED exam is never administered via the internet. If you see websites that offer you the chance to acquire your GED diploma by taking a web-based test, it is fraudulent.

Online preparation can be a perfect solution for students with highly developed discipline who live in remote areas or who are too busy to take part in classes at set times but to take the exam, you need to report personally at a certified test site. In America and Canada together there are more than 3,350 official test sites where you have the opportunity to take the GED tests.

The GED exam-passing score

Initially, the GED test required you to score at least 150 points on each one of the four subtests. Two years after the introduction, though, this was brought back to 145 points as it was clear that it was set too high. Visit GED.com for more valuable information, and register at MyGED to discover a great online portal that will give you perfect guidance through every detail of the process.
