Online Proctored HiSET And GED Tests

The GED and HiSET tests can be taken online as well. In the past, if you wanted to get hold of your equivalency credential, you had to appear at a state-designated test center in person. That has now changed.

If you want to learn more about the HiSET-AT-Home online testing option, check out our post about online HiSET testing. To qualify for online GED testing, applicants must first score in the “green zone” on the GED Ready test. You can learn more here: Introducing the online GED test.

GED Registration & Cost

Registration for the GED tests must be done online at GED.com, and when you sign up with MyGED you can benefit from a great portal that will inform you on all processes that lead to your GED diploma and also about schools and their academic programs and job market options and developments.

The cost for the GED exam is $164 for all four tests ($41 per test), and you now have the option to take one test whenever you are ready; no need to do it all at one time. You will need to have a major credit/debit card, but if that’s a problem, you can purchase vouchers; just check with your testing center. The HiSET exam is slightly cheaper.

Do we have to adjust or update this information? Should we include or remove a facility? Please inform us here.
