GED Requirements in California

The GED – for who is it?

The GED (General Education Development) exam is intended for grownups who never finished high school, and who want to take a second shot at getting a comparable diploma. The certificate that you will receive once you successfully completed the California GED test is accepted all over the country as equivalent to a high school diploma by state and federal official institutions, business employers and colleges.

Is there online GED-HiSET-TASC testing?

There is NO online option to take the GED exam, and also the alternatives TASC and HiSET are NOT offered via the internet. There is no other option than to arrive personally at a state-designated testing center. There are many internet sites that want you to believe something else, but these con artists are only after your dollars. Their documents will not be accepted anywhere and have no value. Please beware and don’t get robbed! There is NO high school equivalency testing possibility.

TASC and HiSET alternatives

The GED exam, like the TASC and HiSET, checks fundamental competencies that students learn in high school, and the subjects addressed in GED preparation classes include math, science, language arts (writing and reading), and social studies.

The TASC and HiSET are cheaper than the GED and offer the tests in both paper and computer formats whereas the new GED set of four tests is only available on a computer. The TASC and the HiSET exams include five testing fields as the language section is separated in two tests on writing and reading.

Prepare well

GED prep classes provide students with continuous test preparation and assessment and help them pass the GED battery of four tests. Students receive individually designed lessons to get used to the new way of measuring their proficiency. The new GED exam questions that are more challenging because the test is aligned to the Common Core Standards. They require students to show how they got an answer, not just find the correct one. A great help are also our GED practice tests, available for FREE and without any obligation whatsoever!

Computer-based testing

So instead of multiple-choice bubbles in a paper booklet, the new GED test is done on a computer. It has blank spaces to type in, essay passages to drag and drop, and graphs to click on. But just as before, the GED exam allows you to demonstrate that you have the knowledge and skills at a graduating high school student’ level.

Once you have acquired your GED certificate,  you will have far better chances to secure a well-paying job, you can boost your career, go to college, and simply organize a brighter future. A GED diploma basically proves that you have an academic background and the diploma is considered by the department of education to be equivalent to a traditional high school diploma. The majority of employers and schools in the country accept a GED as a valid diploma and will offer jobs or the opportunity to pursue a higher diploma for those with good scores.
