Listed in this post are all GED® prep class locations and test centers in the Cincinnati area. Ohio uses the computer-formatted GED exam for its High School Equivalency Testing Program (HSE).
Additionally, Ohio welcomed an alternative testing option, the HiSET® exams.
GED and HiSET testing can be done online and at state-approved Ohio HSE testing centers. For more information about the recently introduced online GED and HiSET options, check the bottom of this page.
The HSE program offers adults who never graduated high school the chance to earn an equivalent credential.
The GED consists of four independent subtests, or modules, in Literacy, Math, Science, and Social Studies.
You have the option to deal with the four GED subtests at a time.
The HiSET comes with five subtests (Literacy is split up into reading and writing tests) that can be taken separately as well.
The HiSET exam is offered in both a paper-based and a computerized format while the GED must be taken on a computer.

Welcoming GED and HiSET online testing
In earlier days, if you wanted to acquire your high school equivalency diploma in Ohio, you needed to appear, in-person, at an official HSE testing center. But now, we’ve seen some great new developments with the introduction of online proctored options to sit for the GED and HiSET tests.
To get informed about the newly launched online HiSET testing option, check out this article: Introducing an online HiSET testing option, and for information about the new online proctored GED exam, go to this page: Introducing online GED testing.
