GED Classes Charlottesville, Virginia

This article shows you all GED® prep classes and testing sites in the Charlottesville region. Virginia is using the computer-based GED exam for high school equivalency (HSE) testing.

GED testing is offered in an online format and at state-approved GED test centers.

HSE testing gives adults who didn’t complete high school an extra chance to obtain an equivalent diploma.

The GED has four subtests in Social Studies, Science, Math, and Literacy that can be completed one (or more) tests at a time.

Testing takes place at a level that’s comparable to that of high school grads.

In the past, online GED testing was not possible. You needed to show up in person at one of Virginia’s official GED testing centers.

That has changed now with the introduction of an online proctored GED test. To learn more, check the information at the bottom of this page.

Welcoming online GED testing

In the past, there never was a way to sit for the GED exam via the internet. To earn your Virginia GED credential, you had to show up personally at one of the state’s official GED testing centers.

This has now changed as we saw the arrival of a new online proctored way to deal with the four GED modules from the comfort of your own home. An online proctor checks if your test-taking activities are in line with the strict regulations. To learn all about this development, check out this page: Welcoming online GED testing.
