The GED program is developed to offer adults without a high school diploma the chance to earn a credential that is equivalent to a high school diploma.
For eligibility criteria, please visit GED in Virginia. The GED test comes with four individual sub-tests that can be taken over a 2-year time frame.
The subtests cover the subject areas of Social Studies (70 min); Science (90 min); Math (115 min); and Language (150 min).
Having the GED diploma will definitely have a positive impact. It allows for better employment options and opens the doors of colleges and universities.
The passing score is 145 on each subtest (brought back from 150 in March 2016). Read all about it on this page.
