What is the GED Exam?

The GED (General Education Development) exam offers adult learners who haven’t finished high school the chance to obtain an educational credential that’s equivalent to a common high school diploma.

There are four individual exams that cover Language Arts, Social Studies, Mathematics, and Science. These four modular tests can be taken one at a time.

The certification that you’ll receive upon completing the Idaho GED test is commonly accepted as the equivalent of a high school diploma all over the nation by government institutions, employers, and colleges.

Online GED Test

In the past, taking the GED exam was only offered at state-designated testing facilities. Taking the GED test online was simply not an option. To earn your GED credential, you needed to report personally to one of Idaho’s official GED test centers.

However, this has changed with the introduction of the online proctored GED testing option. If you take the online GED test, a proctor guides you through the test-taking process and checks if you do everything in line with the regulations.

To qualify for online GED testing, you’ll have to reach “green” results on the official GED Ready test. All GED sub-exams require you to pass the GED Ready test for that subject field first, so that’s four GED Ready tests.

These tests cost $7.99 for each subject and are available on the GED.com website. Onsego students, however, who are registered for an Advantage Plan, don’t have to buy any GED Ready test because their Advantage Plan already includes four GED Ready vouchers, an incredible $32 bonus!
