Last Updated on April 10, 2024.

Posted here are all GED prep class sites and testing facilities in the Aurora, Illinois, region. Illinois is using two options for High School Equivalency testing, the GED and HiSET.

The GED and HiSET are available at certified test centers or online. Read more about online GED and HiSET testing below.

The exams give people who never finished high school the chance to obtain an equivalent degree.

Testing occurs at a level similar to what HS seniors must command upon graduation.

The GED® exam has four individual sub-tests in

  • Language
  • Math
  • Science
  • Social Studies

These independent modules (sub-exams) can be completed one or more at a time and in any order.

Online GED, HiSET Testing

Taking the GED or HiSET exam online was, until recently, not an option. The tests were just not offered online. To earn your high school equivalency diploma in Illinois, you were required to come to an official testing site.

Well, that has changed. The GED and HiSET exams are now also offered online in proctored versions. To learn more, check out: ‘The online GED exam,’ and for HiSET information, go to ‘The online HiSET exam.’
