The HSE exam is for adults who left high school prematurely and offers them the chance to earn an equivalent diploma.

In New Jersey, all three HSE exams must be taken in a computer-based format. No more paper-and-pencil testing.

The GED (General Education Development) exam has four separate tests (modules) in Literacy, Math, Science, and Social Studies.
