Launching the Online GED Test
Until recently, taking the four GED modules over the Internet has never been an option. To get hold of your Virginia GED degree, your personal appearance at one of Virginia’s official GED testing centers was required.
This has now changed with the introduction of an online proctored way to deal with the GED exam. A proctor will monitor online if your testing happens in line with the rules. To learn more about this interesting development, check out ‘The online proctored GED test.’

GED Cost
When you register for the GED exam, you pay as you go. You can register and pay for each of the 4 GED subject tests individually when you think you are ready to take and pass that section. In Virginia, the cost of one subject test is $36, so the overall GED exam will set you back $144. This price counts for both online and on-site GED testing in Virginia.
S0 if you take the exam online, the cost will also be $144 (or $36 per individual sub-exam, but to be able to take the exam online, you must first reach satisfactory results on the GED Ready test. There’s one GED Ready test per subject, so that’ll be an additional $28 (4 times $6.99), so your total cost will be $172.
You must set up an account on the website GED.com/MyGED. This is the to-go place for lots of information about how to take the 4 tests successfully, the employment market and developments in your region, high-in-demand professional directions, colleges and their academic programs, and so on.
You can schedule your tests (if you want, one at a time) when you log in to your account, and you can do so 24/7. You can choose which subtest you want to take, at which test center, and at what time.
