The GED exam can be taken in an online proctored format or at one of Texas’ state-approved testing centers.

The exam is for people who never finished high school and gives them the opportunity to acquire an equivalent credential.
The GED® exam assesses academic proficiency at a level that is comparable to that of high school seniors upon graduation.
The GED exam includes four separate subtests or modules in literacy, math, science, and social studies that can be completed separately and in any order.
In the past, online GED testing was never an option. Now, however, we saw the launch of a GED online proctored testing option. Check the bottom of this post for more information.

Launching Online GED Testing
It used to be that the High School Equivalency (HSE) exam was only administered at official Texas testing centers where test-takers needed to show up personally. Online HSE testing was never an option. But this has changed now with the introduction of an online proctored GED test-taking option.
