What’s on the GED Test

There are four independent GED subtests covering the academic subject fields of

• English Language Literacy
• Math
• Science
• Social Studies

You can take one (or more) of the four GED subtests at a time and in the order you prefer. There’s no need to tackle the entire GED battery in one go.

The GED exam measures knowledge at a level comparable to what students typically acquire after four years of high school.

To earn a GED, Wisconsin test-takers must pass the state’s Civics test as well, a 100-question exam.

The Online GED Test

In earlier days, sitting for the GED exam on the Internet was never possible. To earn your GED diploma, you had to report to one of Wisconsin’s official state-approved GED testing facilities in person.

Well, this changed a few years ago as we saw the introduction of an online proctored option to take the four GED subtests.

If you qualify to take the GED test from your home, an online proctor will check if you do everything in line with the rules and regulations.
