This post includes a full listing of all GED prep classes and testing sites in the Tupelo area. Mississippi uses two options for high school equivalency testing: the GED and HiSET exams.

GED and HiSET testing can be done online and at state-certified testing facilities.

The exams are for adults who did not finish high school and offer them another chance to acquire an equivalent diploma. The assessments measure knowledge at a level similar to what students must command upon graduation.

The GED is fully computer-based, whereas the HiSET can be taken on a computer and on paper.

Some students learn better if they join a class at a prep facility listed below. Others may well benefit from getting all set with an online program.

The GED test has four subtests (modules) in the subject areas of

• English Language
• Math
• Science
• Social Studies

If you wish, you may complete these modules separately and in the order you desire.

The HiSET exam has individual writing and reading tests (so five overall) that can be taken separately, too.

It used to be that there was no online GED or HiSET testing option. You had to go to a state-approved HSE testing site to take the tests in person. But now, that has changed with the arrival of online proctored (OP) HiSET and GED testing possibilities. Read more below.
