GED Classes Tallahassee, Florida

Posted here are all GED® prep classes and test centers in the Tallahassee area.

Florida is using the computer-formatted GED exam for the state’s high school equivalency (HSE) testing program.

HSE testing gives who didn’t have the chance to finish high school another option to get hold of an equivalent degree.

Across the nation, the GED credential is recognized and accepted just like a regular HS diploma.

There are four separate GED subtests that may be completed in as many as two years. The tests are in literacy, social studies, math, and science.

GED – how to start

Most applicants will need at least some instructional preparation to take the GED set of four tests successfully. The demands of the new GED assessment method require college and career readiness competencies that instructors will teach you. If you don’t have the time to attend classes or don’t feel comfortable in classroom settings, studying at home is another possibility but then you need to be really well self-disciplined. Get study books from the local library or bookstore and make sure you will manage your time well. You can also get all set for the GED test through this website’s free online GED prep classes.

GED passing score

All preparation methods will support you in your efforts to obtain a GED diploma and get the knowledge and skills needed to become successful in college and university education programs and in the modern-day workforce. The GED subtests are scored on a 100-200 scale and the passing score is 145. So overall, you need to attain so at least 580 points.

The GED certificate is accepted by the vast majority of employers, colleges, and government agencies all across the US. The GED exam cannot be taken online. You must appear in person at a state-designated testing center. Websites, that want to make you believe a different thing, are fraudulent, and their documents will not be accepted by colleges or employers.

*) Tallahassee Community College – Quincy House

The GED Ready Test (the official GED practice test that comes with scoring prediction) can be taken at the school’s main campus (Center for Workforce Development) and also at TCC’s Quincy House. Individuals who are taking the GED Ready Test will receive an individualized study plan that will indicate on which subjects they need to focus on most. If you want more information (or register for the test) get in touch with the school’s Division of Workforce Development by calling 850-201-8760.

Tallahassee Community College organizes its annual Scholarship Fair regularly at the school’s Performing Arts Center. The event provides a great opportunity (also for future students) to get in touch with the school’s scholarship administrators and learn everything about the financial awards that are offered to qualifying students at the school.

Students can learn how to apply online for TCC’s scholarship, they can learn about the “Free Application for Federal Student Aid” (FAFSA) as well as get informed about the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Program. If you want more information, call the school’s Financial Aid Office (850-201-8399) or go to www.tcc.fl.edu/scholarships.

Tallahassee Community College is also offering online GED education. As support for online students, the school is providing one-on-one tutoring as well in the school’s computer lab for adult education. Coursework covers the four testing areas of the GED examination: literacy, math, social studies, and science.

TCC has 40 spaces available in this GED course, and the cost is $30 per term. Those who want to benefit from this offer must first take a placement test that costs $25. For more information, please call the school’s adult education department at 850-201-8760.
