GED Classes Salt Lake City

Listed in this post are all GED® prep class sites and testing facilities in the Salt Lake City area.

Utah is using the computer-based GED exam for HSE (high school equivalency) testing.

The Utah GED test gives adults who didn’t graduate high school an extra opportunity to earn an equivalent degree.

The GED exam comes with four separate subtests on the following academic fields: Literacy, Science, Social Studies, and Math.

You have up to two years to pass these four subtests or modules.

The GED exam cannot be taken online. You must come to a state-approved testing site and sit for the tests in person.

Do you need a GED to be a nurse?

Who is the GED exam for

The GED program was first created by the US War Department during the 1940’s and was intended to help military workers with extra education and work options. Nowadays, the GED (General Education Development) program is chosen by many men and women in their attempts to get a second opportunity to receive a credential that equals a high school diploma. Successful test takers will receive the Utah High School Completion Diploma.

To see if you qualify check out: GED testing criteria in Utah. The GED diploma is all across North America accepted in the same way as a common HS diploma by colleges, universities, and employers.

Online GED testing?

The GED exam is NOT available over the internet, you must appear in person at a designated GED testing site. In the United States there are millions of people who don’t have a high school diploma, and completing the GED exam successfully will end up in greater employment options and unlock doors to universities and colleges. Online studying to get all geared up is perfectly fine, though, so check out this site’s online video program!

When you see a website offering the GED test or diploma online, you can be certain that this site is false, and run by con artists who are only after your money. The documents they issue are worthless and will certainly not be accepted by schools or employers.

One test at a time

The GED exam allows applicants to take (and pay for) one of the four GED tests at a time. You now can prepare for and take one of the tests (modules) when you feel confident enough to do so. No longer is there the need to complete everything in a row, and from your first test, you’ll have two full years to deal with the other tests! The GED passing score was adjusted in early 2016 to 145. The read more, check out this GED news post and here’s also a link to all US GED prep schools and testing facilities.

*) Salt Lake Community College

Salt Lake Community College offers GED preparation classes for individual students who want to prepare to take the GED exam. Study material is offered for individual lessons and students are educated in the four testing areas of the exam: mathematics, literacy, social studies, and science. Study and test-taking tips are woven all through the course to encourage confidence.

GED practice tests are held to determine students’ exam-readiness. The school’s Integrated Learning Lab is used for classroom instruction and the school’s instructors prepare student perfectly well for the computer-based GED exam. The four GED tests must be taken at the school’s Student Testing Services (Taylorsville Redwood Campus, 801-957-4627).
