Online GED Classes

A simple and easy way of getting your GED diploma.

The GED exam tests knowledge compared to what high school students are expected to command upon graduation.

There are four independent subtests or modules in the subject fields of

  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • Language Arts
  • Social Studies

You have the option to take one or more subtests at a time. There’s no requirement to complete the four GED modules in one take.

Online GED testing was, until recently, never an option. Testing had to be done at one of Utah’s designated testing sites in person.

Welcoming the Online GED Test

In the past, you could not sit for the GED exam in an online format. To earn your GED credential, you had to come, in person, to one of Utah’s state-designated GED testing facilities.

Well, that has changed with the recent introduction of an online option to take the GED exam. A proctor will oversee online if all goes in line with the regulations. For more information about this new development, check out Introducing the online proctored GED exam.

Four GED Subtests

The State of Utah GED exam costs $144 for all four tests, so $36 per individual subtest (module). There’s no need to take it all in a row. The GED exam includes four subject tests, including an essay.

The four tests are on the subjects of

  • Math (115 minutes)
  • Language Arts (150 minutes)
  • Science (90 minutes)
  • Social Studies (70 minutes)

To be allowed into the test center, a valid government-issued ID is required, such as a current driver’s license, military ID, State ID Card, or passport. High school and university ID cards and library cards are not valid IDs.
